The view from the living room balcony. I can hear the ocean, the sun is bright and the breeze is nice. We can see the sound behind the island from the back of the house. This island can't be more than a mile wide. Its pretty long though.

I'm already in my swimsuit, even though no one else is up. Mom is, but she is having breakfast with the aunts and uncle and their rental up the block. I had poptarts on the front porch. I guess I need to wait til someone gets up so they can but sunblock on my back.

Almost vacation time. I can't figure out how to make that picture flip so the words are right. I guess Photobooth takes mirror pictures. Busy round here. I spent most of the day launderying and packing. I'm all ready but Chris ain't. All I need to do is pack toiletries, pick out one more book and the movies we are going to take.

I taught my little seven year old cousin how to knit. She was pretty good at it too. Except everytime she made a stitch solo she'd get so excited that she would almost drop stitches. I told her that every time she sees this sweater she will know she helped me make it. That's pretty cool for me too.

We saw Talladega Nights on Sunday and I laughed my ass off. And developed a bit of a crush on Will Ferrell. Its the driving. I swear there is nothing sexier than watching a man changing gears on stick shift. Mmm yummy. And he is my favorite body type. Long and lanky, like Colin Firth. Funny, too.

10 more days til vacation!

I need to find some good vacation books. Something like Judith McNaught or Jude Deveraux. I like the big fat romances. Historical preferably.

The sleeve of my sweater. Fabulous.

Rough day at work. They have decided that now in addition to all the other crap we have to do, now we have to make sure the shelf extenders are full. I was twelve kinds of pissed. Its really not that much more work its that it is something that the managers do but have now decided that it is too much work for them. Fuck that shit. I hate my job. Get me out of here. My vacation can't come soon enough. By this time in two weeks I should be enjoying sunny Florida. Please!

Well it ended up not being a lazy day. I had the brilliant idea to try and clear out all the brush I already got rid of earlier in the year that has since grown back. Worst.Idea.Ever. I cleared about half the stuff, around 8 feet. I thought I was going to die. Filled up the whole big green trash can. I was just covered in filth when I came inside. We're watching The Thin Man right now. Its v funny. And a bit risque for 1934. I finished all my laundry for the second time in a row instead of leaving one load in the dryer like usual.

I was supposed to bring a friend of my sister to Sophie's today. But she had to stay home to wait for her landlord to call about her broken AC. She just knows how to K and P and is v excited about learning to make shapes that aren't scarves. She is coming on vacation with us and asked Lori if maybe we could knit on vacation. Hee, like you have to ask? She also was blown away that I actually go to an SnB. "She has a group? Of knitters!?"

I'm very excited about making the Natalie Coat from Big Girl Knits. The yarn it calls for is $10 a ball and I need 10 balls. The yarn is just 100% wool. I can get some from Knitpicks for $2 a ball. $100 sweater vs. $20 sweater. I can't even buy a sweater coat from Lane Bryant for that. Something like that would probably cost upwards of $60.

Happy August

Wow yall check it. I love this built in camera! My tiny, doesn't cover all my toes sock. Lookin good.

Lazy day today. Its too hot to go out so I am at home doing laundry and cleaning up a bit. Dishes and whatnot. I should check the mail, "The Thin Man" was supposed to arrive today. An old fast talking movie about a husband and wife detective team. Up for tomorrow- "Serenity." I have the damn theme song for Firefly stuck in my head.
